ITM COMPS: ITM Season 3
ITM & SMULE HISTORY
I’ve been on Smule for about six years now, and I love every minute of it! I especially love harmonizing and making songs my own. I’m very active in the Smule competition community: in addition to participating as a competitor, I’ve also accumulated a ton of experience on the staff side in the roles of creator/admin, mentor/coach, and judge. I was a judge in ITM Season 3 and am excited to return for this year’s ITM competitions! I’m a leader of three Smule groups (#NashvilleVoices, #_SOA Singers of Anarchy, and #RockNBellas), a member of a bunch more.
PERSONAL BIO
I’m a 43-year-old mom of three from New Jersey, USA. I have a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in English, and I love animals, kids, and everything Disney. I’ve been singing my entire life, and couldn’t exist without music in my life! In addition to “smuling” every chance I get, I also enjoy singing in church, at karaoke, and pretty much any time I’m alone in the house or my car! I especially love harmonizing and making songs my own. I’m a fan of pretty much all music genres (although I tend to mostly sing country and soft rock), and I often try to sing slightly out of my range to build it up. I had some vocal training in my childhood, but for the most part, I’ve used informal training and practice to improve my vocal techniques over the years.
MESSAGE TO CONTESTANTS
I am so excited to have the opportunity to be a judge for ITM again! I’m eager to listen to your entries and do all I can to provide honest and fair feedback to help you improve your vocal skills, get out of your comfort zone, and be the very best performer you can be! While I appreciate natural vocal talent, I’m much more impressed by creativity and emotion, and hope you will bring these elements into your entries! I encourage you to work with your mentors and follow their suggestions, but don’t forget to believe in your own abilities, trust your own judgement, and challenge yourself! One of the best things about competitions is being able to learn new skills and attempt things you’ve never tried before. I hope this will be a rewarding experience for every contestant. Good luck to everyone, and remember to have fun, put your heart into everything you’re singing, and don’t put too much pressure on yourself!
