ITM Rules

Welcome to ITM (Inspired Through Music). Our goal for you is to do your best, and have FUN! That being said, there are some ground rules that we ask that you abide by. Failure to follow these rules results in disqualification from the competition.

  • All team members MUST be aged 18 or over by the COMP START DATE
  • All team members MUST be a member of the Smule! app community. 
  • Only ONE team member IS required to be a VIP Member.
  • Your TEAM LEADER MUST have a valid LINE account and provide us with their ID.
  • Team members MUST NOT change their LINE ID or SMULE NAME once the competition has begun. If for whatever reason they MUST change it, please inform any member of Admin before doing so. 
  • Line display names MAY be changed at any time.
  • Teams must be between 6 and 12 members.
  • Teams must nominate a TEAM LEADER.
  • A minimum of 6 team members MUST sing on each entry or a penalty will be incurred.
  • Team members may leave the competition but they MAY NOT be replaced. No substitutions.
  • Teams may open from group accounts. Group accounts should be registered at the time of entry.

CHATROOMS

  • TEAM LEADERS must remain in the main chat room at all times. It is not compulsory for the rest of the team to do so. 
  • This is an English Speaking Competition. English language is the only language that may be used in the chat rooms unless otherwise stated in the notes.
  • Please respect each other. Drama, discrimination or any type of bullying in ANY of the chat rooms associated with an ITM competition will result in disqualification.
    • Please note, we cannot resolve disputes between contestants outside of the competition arena. If someone is harassing you, please ignore/block them and report them to LINE/Smule.
  • Chat about what you like in the main chat room but we do ask you try and avoid emotive subjects like COVID, politics, religion and football. 
  • NO Nudity, please.
  • Unless stated in the notes of a chat room, please do NOT spam the chat rooms with OC's. Please tag your OCs with #ITMoc and your fellow contestants will find them easily! We do not have a music sharing room.
  • ITM entries MAY be posted in the ITM chatrooms for other contestants to listen to.
  • Please do NOT advertise other competitions or your smule groups other than by uploading a single image to the appropriate album. You may however talk to fellow contestants about other comps that you are in as long as you do not advertise them.
  • It is forbidden for contestants to add or remove members to or from any of the chat rooms. Should you do so, you will be automatically disqualified.
  • You are NOT allowed to add notes, albums or announcements to the chat rooms.
  • You MAY start group calls but please do NOT invite everyone in the room.
  • You may NOT chat in the QUIET ROOM if one is made available - this will be at creative team discretion and if there is significant demand..

SMULE

  • This is a SMULE based competition. Any vocal sound appearing on entries must have been made using the SMULE app. You are permitted to use the following audio equipment only.
    • A device which runs the smule app (e.g. iPHONE)
    • Headphones/Earpods and external microphones.
  • You are NOT allowed to use any voice altering hardware or software externally
  • ITM Staff are not permitted to join your OC’s during the competition unless they have a prior relationship with you. E.g. in the same group. Please do not ask them.
  • You MAY join ITM Staff OCs.
  • In an effort to promote the #NoSmuleNDrive campaign we will disqualify any teams with members who are discovered to be smuling and driving whilst in this competition.

DISPUTES

  • Any dispute or personal matters about the rounds or any other members should be taken straight to a member of the creative team via PM. Please DO NOT voice your opinion in the main chat or in the chat rooms. You will be removed from the competition and if you had submitted an entry you will be disqualified.
  • Scores are final (with the exception of a genuine admin error).
  • Creative Team decisions are final in all disputes.
