This document will tell you everything you need to know for The Final Show. Ensure that you read it carefully and refer to the FAQ before asking any questions. Make sure you also read all the rules as well. Please take time to read these criteria carefully. We would also recommend that you read the judging criteria thoroughly so you know what our judges are looking for.

You did it! You made it! You are a performing artist and you are about to step out onto stage for your first show! Your fans are waiting!
For this final round you must perform a set lasting between 25-30minutes. You may have a break of NO LONGER than 45seconds between each song (please make sure you time this in your rehearsals).
Whatever songs you choose, you MUST ensure that you prepare them. You will have only ONE opportunity to show the judges and your fans what you can do. Once you begin singing you may NOT restart.

ROUND CRITERIA
- You can sing ANY version of ANY song from ANY genre with ANY backing.
- You may sing a song you have sung before but it MUST be a different version.
- FX
- You may only use None, Polish, Studio or Super Studio FX.
- Video FX
- You may not use any video FX.
- Lyrical Changes, Lyrical Additions, Mashups, and Medleys are ALLOWED
- Acapella is ALLOWED.
- If you choose to sing acapella you may take a note or chord before you begin to sing.
- NO background vocals are allowed on the backing track.
- this includes any sound made by a human voice.
- E.g. sound of an audience cheering on the track needs to be created by YOU, not already be present on the track
- this also includes heavily processed vocal samples
- this includes beatboxing
- If you are unsure, please verify your backing track with a staff member.
- this includes any sound made by a human voice.
- Only YOU may appear on screen. You do not have to show your full face, but you must still convey a physical performance.
- You are ALLOWED to upload a song to the community songbook. This must have no background vocals on it and will be checked.
- You may perform with your own instrument, however you will only be judged on your singing.
- You may perform a song in ANY language, but know that the common language
- Songs may be ANY length.
- You MUST tell us what song you are singing using this form 24 HOURS prior to your judging slot. This is so judges can properly assess creativity.
PLEASE NOTE: Staff cannot approve your chosen song(s) theme is valid. It is YOUR responsibility to ensure your song fits the theme.

Your two judges’ scores less any penalties will be averaged to find your total score. Contestants will then be ranked and a certain number eliminated.

APPEARANCE (3)
Has the contestant come dressed to perform, or have they just dragged themselves out of bed?
0 Points – Inappropriate attire
1 Points – Didn’t make an effort
2 Points – Dressed appropriately for performance, but doesn’t tell us who they are
3 Points – Attire is appropriate for performance, and shows us who they are.
PREPARATION (1)
Contestants should be ready to sing when they take the mic;
- All equipment should be set up and ready
- They should know what song they are singing and which version
- They should be ready to start the song when the host indicates.
Failure to do any one of these will result in 0 points in this section.
The contestant should do a quick test in advance of their judging slot to see if they are experiencing any problems prior to starting and inform ITM immediately if they do so.
Performance Criteria
TECHNIQUE (5)
Pitch, Timing, Control, Breathing
5 POINTS – perfect technique – absolutely no errors
4 POINTS – any technical errors were inconsequential to performance
3 POINTS – Outstanding technique, some errors
2 POINTS – Good technique, many errors
1 POINT – Poor technique, a lot of errors
0 POINTS – No technique, full of errors
STYLE (5)
Emotion, Dynamics, Character/Personality, Range/Tone
5 POINTS – All stylistic techniques were sensitively, and appropriately used.
4 POINTS – All stylistic techniques were used, room for improvement.
3 POINTS – Not all stylistic techniques were used, but when used were used well.
2 POINTS – Not all stylistic techniques were met/used, and some use was inappropriate.
1 POINT – Contestant attempted to use stylistic features but was not sustained throughout the performance.
0 POINTS – A performance devoid of any stylistic features
SONG (5)
Appropriate Song Choice (for their vocal abilities and theme), How well prepared the contestant is with the song, and whether it sets them up for success as a solo live jam. Did the contestant plan out their performance well? Creativity in making it their own.
5 POINTS – Perfect Song Choice, contestant made the song their own through creative additions/changes.
4 POINTS – Excellent Song Choice, could have been more creative.
3 POINTS – Good song choice, some creativity
2 POINTS – Poor choice, moments of creativity
1 POINT – Poor Song Choice, no creativity
0 POINTS – Terrible song choice, zero creativity
PERFORMANCE (5)
Energy, Visual Performance, Communication, Overall Vocal Performance. Important, this isn’t necessarily about enjoyment – score them on the quality of what they delivered, EVEN if it’s not “your style” or something you enjoyed. If someone is bringing about a heartbreaking performance, or singing a song you despise, but they do all of these elements well, you must score them on what they delivered, not your preference.
5 POINTS – a completely captivating and sustained performance, any errors were inconsequential
4 POINTS – an outstanding performance with loads of energy – 1 or 2 minor errors
3 POINTS – a good performance, any major or minor errors were momentary.
2 POINTS – a good performance, some major technical errors that cannot be ignored.
1 POINT – an OK performance, no energy lots of errors.
0 POINTS – a weak performance, full of errors
CRITIQUE
The judge will give a short critique live (written). This will be their initial reaction to the performance.

The following will result in automatic disqualification.
- Failure to book a judging slot within the required time frame.
- Failure to attend a judging slot without advanced warning (you may only do this once)
- Someone other than you performing on your behalf.
- Breaking the rules of the competition
- Adding anyone to any chat room
- Removing anyone from any chat room
- Posting notes/polls etc in any chat room
- Deleting any notes or images (other than your own) from the chat rooms.
- Changing the settings of any chatroom
- Performing an Original Song.
- Leaving the main chat room.
- Repeatedly not following the rules of the chat room despite warnings.
When you receive critique on your song/performance, please don’t take anything personally. Whether your critique is full of praise or constructive it is only meant to help you improve and to make you a better singer.
